5 Fresh Ways To Wear This NYC Staple

The solstice may still be a month away, but it already feels like summer. However, we're not quite ready to let go of spring — or our transitional wardrobe. And, we encourage you to do the same: Find those limb-baring silhouettes you'll be wearing all summer long in warmer textures to give spring one last hurrah. Case in point: leather. Just because it's warming up doesn't meant that you have to stow your leather pieces away. To get those wardrobe juices flowing, we have some outfit inspiration of how to incorporate the seasonless staple into your #OOTDs. The Baggy Shorts
Up comes the sun and out go the pants. As the temperatures rise, our hems shorten proportionally. But, since it's still a little too chilly to officially deem it cutoff season (fingers crossed for post-Memorial Day!), leather shorts let us ease into exposed legs, while still keeping in line with warmer textures.

The Moto Jacket
A navy leather moto is just as versatile as your wear-everywhere black shell, without veering too dark for the season. Paired with pops of brights — like coral and peach — and graphic patterns, it'll feel right at home in your spring look.
The Turned Up T-Shirt
Leather in the workplace can be tricky. However, a short-sleeved top paired with a high-waisted pencil skirt or your go-to trousers may be the solution you've been kind of, sort of, searching for: The texture adds a sophisticated edge to your 9-to-5 wardrobe without raising any eyebrows.

The Fringed Skirt
You left your heart at Coachella — but you brought the penchant for fringe back home with you. So, let the festival sensibility ooze into your real-life wardrobe with an eye-catching hemline. Enjoy these last few days of somewhat-springy weather before it gets too hot to wrap your legs in leather.

The Understated Vest
Layering in the late spring is a lot more pleasant when sleeves are taken out of the equation. When it's too hot for your moto, try a leather vest on for size.

The Fancy Overalls
Dungarees: not just for the playground. Give your childhood favorite a very grown-up refresh with some sleek, black leather. All you need is a T-shirt underneath. Even without further embellishment, your #OOTD will stand out from the crowd.
