Minimalism and contemporary design are quickly becoming popular wedding trends, and we couldn’t love Bertus and Andreé’s interpretation of the modern aesthetic any more.

After about a decade of dating, the couple got engaged. They chose a German microbrewery for their venue. Set in a modest, contemporary farm-style building on an open field in South Africa, the brewery captured all of their favorite things: the great outdoors, alfresco dining, and, of course, beer.

"Brauhaus [the brewery] was very accommodating. A neighboring farm supplied the hay-bale seats and nursery trees used as soft edges. Rusted, shuttering structures that shaped the interior brick vaults were reused as sculptural elements to demarcate the ceremony."

"White, minimalist detailing was a subtle accompaniment that complemented the simplicity of the setting and the pastels of the flora. White umbrellas provided much-needed shade to the congregation. [There were] practical white covers on the hay-bale seats, and clean programs and posters with carefully selected typography."
