Ships Ahoy! Pegleg NYC's Kid-Friendly Klothes

There's something about Pegleg NYC's new summer collection that almost makes us welcome this heat with open arms. The line's whimsical, nautical-inspired tanks and tees, featuring simple, colorful decals of sailboats, life preservers, and toy planes, take us back to a gentler, simpler time.

Stare at the kindergarten colors too long and we're back on summer break from elementary school, popsicle juice down our chins, tearing through the playground. A selection of bright, multihued shorts—the kind where each of the four panels is a different color—and some zany patterned swim trunks complete the look, as do a slew of tongue-in-cheek baseball caps. The bright shades and simple construction—not to mention the tanks' generous armholes—are just what the doctor ordered this summer. It might be because we're still the messy eaters we were as kids, but we'd like to think a drip here or there might just add some character.
