My Brilliant Career: Natalia Brilli S/S 09 Collection

We can always count on Natalia Brilli to deliver sculptural pieces with a slightly sinister streak, but her spring/summer collection has a touch of the sweet too. For her follow-up to fall's equestrian underworld theme, the Rochas alum confidently transitions from feminine bow, ribbon, and leather pearl details to darker, fiercer black and silver cuffs of undulating waves, ropey links, bulbous beads, and a witty faux watch bangle dubbed the "Nolex." Prickly feathers and spike-like shards of leather pierce several pieces, including the tasseled, whip-like, perfectly named Raven necklace. Excepting a black skull miniaudiere, Brilli's bags are more modern than macabre, with a suede cobalt tote alternating with woven black leather, great everyday bags, and an amazing pockmarked black crystal clutch. So…see ya at Erie Basin?
