LAEKEN Debuts in L.A.: Mallyce Miller's Debut at GEN-Art

We have to thank the très merveilleux Erika Forster of one of our all-time favorite bands Au Revoir Simone for tipping us off to LAEKEN's first time participation in LA Fashion Week. Having just been named one of Gen Art's Fresh Faces in Fashion LA 2008, designer Mallyce Miller's label is certainly on its way up. Her spring 2009 collection stems from her travels to places as far and wide as Cambodia, Bangkok, and Bondi Beach, her work as a stylist, and her "lockdown effort, devout focus," and obviously inimitable eye. Presenting "a melange of saccharine color with sport-inspired contours…tie-dyed silks, Japanese cotton mesh and bright plaid," her second collection is inspired by an eclectic sense of adventure and spontaneity.
