3 Ways To Go From Office To Holiday Party

'Tis the season for holiday parties. And, for some reason, these soirees are never on the weekends. Seriously, our weeknights are starting to make for some rather difficult mornings after. Plus, we don't have a whole heap of time to rush out of work to get ready at home. In a perfect world, we'd have some sort of makeup-and-wardrobe fairy to provide on-demand zhushing. Until then, we've gotta rely on some clever outfit choices to take us from day to night. And, maybe use a day-to-night makeup trick or two. Ahead, three perfect outfits to go from work to play.

White Christmas
Sure, Diddy's White Party has earned quite the reputation. But, we assure you, his gathering's got nothin' on the one you'll be attending — or, this amazing outfit. Here, jumpsuits are your friend. Accent a winter white with metallics, like silver heels and a gold blazer. And, if you can sneak in a touch of color — might we suggest some icicle-style earrings? — even better. This combo allows you to adhere to the party's theme without opting for an all-white-everything look.
Suno Relaxed Blazer, $795, available at Farfetch; Topshop Strappy V Waist Jumpsuit, $96, available at Topshop; Nasty Gal Ivory Coast Clutch, $48, available at Nasty Gal; DANNIJO Jenny Earring, $195, available at DANNIJO; Tom Ford Mirror-Leather Pointy-Toe Pump, $890, available at Neiman Marcus.

Keeping Traditions
Like it or not, some holiday parties don't come with a theme. These more traditional gatherings make it easier to go from work to play. In this instance, you're probably looking for a way to spruce up one of your go-to work outfits. This wool-dress-and-boots outfit is perfect for a winter wardrobe but incorporates a touch of color to get you feeling more festive. Plus, the sleeveless feature makes you well-equipped, should any dance battles erupt. Finish off with a touch of bling to tie it all together, and you're ready for some (spiked) eggnog.

Ironic Christmas Sweater Party
Ah, yes. We all have at least one of these on our December calendars. You're expected to show up in what's called your "best worst." The idea here is to engage in the nostalgia of horrible holiday sweaters while still managing to look cool. And, if you think your boss wouldn't be too impressed with your (amazing) cat-and-jingle-bells sweater, you'd be 100% right. Go for a top that's lighter on the pattern, but still passes for something you plucked from your grandmother's closet, per your party's theme. The metallic skirt brightens everything up, but doesn't scream "club wear." See? It's all in how you frame it.
Lavera Natural Cosmetics Lipstick, $19, available at Drugstore.com; Robert Clergerie Lucianaf, $419, available at Barneys; Lauren Moffatt Ulster Pullover, $204, available at Steven Alan; Opening Ceremony Lurex Skirt, $230, available at Mode Walk; Aerie Houndstooth Pattern Tights, $9, available at Aerie.
