Sky Ferreira: Rough Trade NYC, November 25, FREE
Famed British label/record store Rough Trade is opening its shiny new Williamsburg store tonight. The warehouse-like space is set to be New York City's largest brick-and-mortar record shop, with a 300 person venue, coffee shop, and bar. The days are past when East Coasters talk about Amoeba with wide-eyed longing. Sky Ferreira kicks off the grand opening, but if you can't make it tonight there are plenty of awesome shows all week long to celebrate.
Monday, November 25, 6:30 p.m., Rough Trade NYC, 64 North 8th Street (between Kent and Wythe avenues); No phone.

David Byrne: Terminal 5, November 20, $50
Titled "Here Lies Love: A Concert for the Philippines," the famed Talking Head frontman will be raising much-needed funds for the typhoon-devastated country. Byrne is a living legend and we can't think of a better reason to head over to Terminal 5. What better way to celebrate Thanksgiving than giving to those who truly need help?
Monday, November 25, 7 p.m., Terminal 5, 610 West 56th Street (between 11th and 12th Avenues); 212-582-6600.
Lauryn Hill: Bowery Ballroom, November 27, $100
Fresh out of the hoosegow where she served three months for tax-evasion, Ms. Lauryn Hill is back with two performances at Bowery Ballroom. At $100 a ticket the price is steep, but for a massive star like Hill we think a splurge is worth it. There are both early and late shows, so take note.
Wednesday, November 27, 6 and 10:30 p.m., Bowery Ballroom, 6 Delancey Street (between Bowery and Chrystie); 212-533-2111.
