This childhood pleasure gets a major revamp at sexy LES tapas eatery The Stanton Social. Pastry chef Jaime Sudberg makes a mean Gingerbread Twinkie with Pumpkin Cream Cheese Filling that’s leaps and bounds tastier than the second grade snack. How is this possible, you ask? Well, these 'winks are made in-house using freshly-baked gingerbread cake that’s amped up with molasses, and the pumpkin-infused cream cheese filling is spiced with cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cardamom. After one bite, it’s hard going back to the packaged version.
