The Next Generation: 5 New NYC Hotspots To Drink At Now

The backyard, the photo booth, the beautiful clientele, the taco truck (dear God, the taco truck!) — truly, Union Pool is a treasure of L-line Brooklyn. Few other places in this city can claim to have supplied so many perfect ends to wild nights and crowded dance parties over the last decade as this hipster hang beneath the BQE. But, looking for a little elbow room, tasty grub, and a change of pace, we've moved to Lavender Lake on the shores of Gowanus. Apparently, many of Union Pool's lovely regulars have also migrated here. Well designed within and an urban beach out, the hearty, delicious food, relaxed mood, and great spirit make this our boozy backyard of choice.
