What do you do at Band Of Outsiders?
"I'm the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications and I've been with Band for almost six years. I'm involved in a lot of things, but specifically I produce our shows, Polaroid campaigns, and events. I handle all of our social media and special projects. I build brand books, press kits, and other marketing materials, and am a part of the women's design dialogue with Scott Sternberg."
What does a typical day look like?
"The first thing I do is read all of the news, including WWD. Then, I spend all morning responding to emails. Because I manage three PR firms (Black Frame in the U.S., PR Consulting in Europe, and Guthrie in Japan), there are a lot of questions that need to be answered. I'm constantly checking our social media outlets like Twitter and Tumblr and contributing new content. At some point during the day, I'll have a creative brainstorm session with Scott. We'll also play dress up for awhile, and discuss development and product design. Depending on the week, I'll read magazines and make sure I'm up-to-date on credits like who's styling, writing, and shooting what. I always have the next show in the back of my mind, so there's constantly some aspect I'm working on. In between that I'm researching possible collaborations, events, and sponsors."
