Shop It NowStreet Style: A Comfy-Casual Look For Summer Nights

As the weather heats up, layers tend to come off and skirts tend to get shorter. But that doesn't always have to be the case. When we saw Nina Young's covered-up yet still summery look, we knew it was not only comfortable, but also a great evening outfit for when the sun goes down on summer nights. Yes, it still gets chilly! With light fabric, layers are still a great option and allow you to play with pieces of your wardrobe from every season. Plus, we love the idea of using a maxi skirt as a laid-back option to help transition from morn to midnight. And, it's soooo easy to pack (weekend getaways, anyone?). We think get-up is boho but still styled to perfection. But what say you? A little too hippy or awesomely understated? Tell us in the comments below!
1 Girl, 4 Looks: The World's Most Fashionable CEO?
With all the buzz around Target's latest collaboration, chances are you're already well-versed in the chic, chic stylings of The Webster. The Miami boutique—an international shopping destination along the lines of, say, Paris' Colette—is catching fire around the globe, thanks to Laure Heriard Dubreuil, one of the most sartorially gifted CEOs this side of the pond. The brunette beauty is no fashion rookie—she founded The Webster after stints at Balenciaga and YSL, just a few highlights on her impressive résumé. Her highly sophisticated yet super fun taste (think palm prints and colors, colors, colors!) and discerning eye for fresh designers explains how she turned The Webster into not just a South Beach mainstay, but an obsession.
A peek at her enviable Wooster Street closet reinforces just why her shop is so influential—Heriard Dubreuil's rad racks are the ultimate crash course for any wannabe buyer. From neon dresses and French-tastic trousers to a perfectly tailored blazer, each of her pieces is launching us into full-on lust mode. So, we picked her brain for tips on summer dressing, wardrobe musts, and her top NYC browsing destinations, when she's not, you know, running The Webster. Click through to cue instant jalousie.
Street Style Video: What's Fresh On 5th Avenue
To some, Fifth Avenue is a no-go zone stuffed with strollers, tourists, and out-of-your-league price tags. But when there's a crowd, there's usually a reason for it, and on Fifth, that reason is the draw of some of the best shops in the city. Every window features an ooh- and aah-worthy display of amazing designer duds just waiting to be snapped up by the perfect shopper. Plus, if you take the time to look at the reflections in the glass, you'll find that the looks that walk down the strip on any given (sunny) day are as chic as the clothing waiting behind the (heavily guarded) doors.
Ready to meet the fine folks on Fifth? Watch our R29 street-style video, in which we quiz stylish pedestrians on what they're wearing, where they're going, and on what items inspire shelling out the big bucks. Take a look, then let us know how you think these uptown styles compare to the wares we stalked across the bridge in Billyburg.

Street Style Stalking: Met Gala Mini-Moments
The Met Gala and street style may be opposite ends of the fashion spectrum: one super-thought out, styled, and polished, the other extemporized, raw, and real (at least when we're shooting real NYC girls). But you know here at R29 we applaud and take notes on it all, so we've combined our two loves by actually street style-stalking the Met Gala entrances, and we're sure the up-close-and-personal sartorial details won't disappoint. From Rooney's big entrance to sky-high Loubs, these mini-moments caught our lens before they made an appearance on the red carpet. Hamish, Karlie, Giovanna and yes, you, Ms. Mara, smile (or better yet, smize!): You're on candid Met Gala camera. And, sure, this may not be your regular street style slideshow, but for one curbside night, despite jostling with the paps and screaming fans, it really doesn't get much better than this.

Jacket Stalking! 13 Cute Coverups On Real NYC Gals & Guys
The month of May typically conjures images of park picnics, outdoor BBQs, and that treasured first trip to the beach (read: Rockaway Taco). But, that doesn't mean we can go straight from bulky sweaters to itty-bitty bikinis; Thanks to a sassy lady we like to call Mother Nature, we're forced to endure a roller coaster of hot-and-cold temps that constantly rains on our sartorial parade. To help you through her mood swings, we hit the streets to find the best inspiration for your layering needs. From tough 'n' trendy military jackets, to edgy leather bombers, to the season's prettiest floral trenches, we've got you covered — literally.
Street Style: Early May Showers Bring Mix 'N' Match Florals

Given the persistant gray skies lately, it's like every time we look out the office window we think we could be in London (except of course, we've got The Standard East). It's a little dreary. Sure, we share style notes with our friends across the pond, but we'd like to let them have their weather all to themselves. So, in order to invigorate the mood, we've turned our lenses sidewalk-side and found an amazing look thats shocking us back to life. Enter Athanella Paul's layers of floral prints, just the thing to help us avoid electrotherapy. The Hawaiian skirt may be a difficult piece to match, so Athanella nailed it by mis-matching (or weirdly matching) to perfection. The windblown hair and the spikey white shoes (yes even with tights!) all work well together in an accidentally-chic type of way that everyone's always trying to get right. Though we wish we could have gotten a better look at that black boxy handbag, given her statement necklace and confident stance, we'll just go ahead and assume it's awesome, too.
Street Style: Blue And Gray Cuteness With A Puppy To Match

Our heads turn for cool street style looks and cute puppies alike, so when we spot the two in combination it's pretty much a recipe for instant whiplash. Such was the case with Joanna M's dolled-up denim look and adorable little pooch. We love Joanna's studded jean jacket and topper – both are sophisticated yet still laid-back. Also great? The gray motif going on from the legs to the Marc By Marc Jacobs school bag to the fluffy man's-best-friend in tow (also smiling big for our street style cam, obvs). Tell us what you think of this springy duo and let us know if you think it's cute when pets finish off a look in the comments below.
Street Style: Knee Highs And Mighty

Transitional dressing is all about layers, but you're not about to load up on the bottom (right, guys?). Instead, knee-highs are a much better way to take the seasonal plunge while not looking like that girl...you know the one shivering in shorts or a mini-skirt on an under 60-degree day? And if you think you can't pull off the look, just reference Emma Michelson's impeccable schoolgirl ensemble. The burgundy-and-taupe palette keeps the outfit subtle and lets the socks do the talking (without looking over the top). We also love that she worked the color back into her jacket, this time making it pop with fun buttons and a baggy fit. Now just imagine if this was your school uniform—class time wouldn't be so bad after all. XOXO...well you know the rest.
Head-Turning Hairdos Spotted On Real New Yorkers
When your coif looks professional, it seems the sun shines a little brighter, everything goes on sale, and strangers smile at you on the street — indeed, there's nothing like a good hair day. And, while we may not be 10 out of 10 every day of the week, we can certainly recognize a good 'do when we see one. As the hats come off and the locks come out, we spotted some head-turning styles that definitely make springtime look even better than it is. From the perfect guy cut, to poofed-out tresses, to all-over green dye that actually looks chic, these hair stalking snaps might just make the sun shine a little brighter for you, too.
Dude! Bro! Dude! A Street Style Slideshow That's Just For The Boys
As much as we love to snap fashion savvy NY'ers, we have to admit that we're guilty of not including enough guys into the mix. Yes boys, we notice how well you dress, trust us, but it looks like Women's Wear Daily beat us to the street style punch!

Street Style: It's Sunny With A Chance Of Graphic Prints

This week's raising temps have the sandals coming out, the sunglasses going on, and the jackets nowhere in sight. But evenings and mornings are still a bit chilly, so it's time to really nail the perfectly transitional outfit that keeps you comfy on your commute (and when you take that extra long lunch break outside). We saw this one on the street and just had to snap it up. We love the use of the lace up booties (time to get your last wears in!) with the leather jacket as a topper, but the ensemble is kept breezy and cool with the bright T-shirt and flowy skirt. We're totally digging the pop of yellow with the graphic print and think this look can be remixed many different ways come summer, when you wouldn't even need the jacket at all (it'll come!). What's more, the casual but still chic clutch, bright pink lip, ombre hair, and beaming smile really finishes off this get-up to perfection. And who can stop grinning when it's this nice outside? We're totally those annoying people smirking on the sidewalk...especially when it's happy hour.
