Michael David Quattlebaum Jr., Unrepresented
Andrea says, "I first heard about Michael David Quattlebaum Jr.’s work via Terence Koh’s ASS Gallery and I’ve been watching his video works online ever since. There were so many great artists who were poets in the '60’s, '70’s, and '80’s, but somehow that identity lost its radical nature. Quattlebaum Jr.’s work revives that art in a way that’s relevant, honest, and totally avant-garde. I loved his interview in the most recent issue of the journal (which is one of my favorite art publications) about his approach. His work is a very personal mash-up of poetry, rap, performance, and video; It feels exceptional."
David can be heard on "Mykki Blanco & The Mutant Angels," a 4-track released this spring, or on the "Cosmic Angel" concept rap album.
