Over the past few seasons, the high-fashion world has all but exiled the once-untouchable skinny jean, fawning instead over the more novel flare, culotte, and other exaggerated widths du jour. Make no mistake, though: Skinny jeans are here to stay. The archetypal style goes with almost anything, and its shape-hugging fit can be all kinds of flattering on all kinds of body types.

But, like your go-to sushi order (tuna-avocado roll, side of seaweed salad), your standard skinnies look may eventually start to slip from feeling like a well-loved security blanket to feeling like the commute you do on autopilot day in and day out. There's nothing wrong with a no-brainer outfit (who among us hasn’t resorted to throwing on an uninspired tee or plaid flannel before brunch?), but falling into the same old outfit formula can mean missing out on trends you didn't even know you'd love.

Taking advantage of the wardrobe staple’s chameleon-like versatility, we crafted five early-fall looks around Levi’s® new mid-rise 711 Skinny Jean — a universal mid-weight option that stretches, holds, and lifts — proving you don’t have to overhaul your denim collection to placate the fashion gods. Try ’em out as soon as the temps start to drop, and don’t be surprised if you suddenly feel like ordering the spiciest roll on the menu.

Achieving the whole modern boho thing doesn’t have to be complicated. Everyday skinny jeans and a simple mock-neck sweatshirt take on a sophisticated retro vibe with the addition of a round-brim wool hat, round sunnies, and groovy suede platforms. In other words, you’ll use any autumnal activity as an excuse to Instagram yourself your outfit.

    Luxe Athleisure
If you’re not the sporty type (or even if you are), you might consider tapered denim counterintuitive to an on-point athletic look. But a little creativity pays off big-time when it comes to your fall style game: Swapping sweats for figure-complementing skinnies offers a less sloppy silhouette, while special takes on game-time gear, like a satin-finish bomber and sequin drawstring backpack, lend a pulled-together nod to the genre.

    Cool Canadian Tux
The trick to easily adding interest to monochromatic denim-on-denim? Details, details, details. Go for less predictable proportions by pairing your favorite skinny jeans with a relaxed chambray shirtdress, then balance out the volume up top with a heavier shoe, like a playful low combat boot. Arty-feeling accessories keep the mood mellow, while elevating the look for an off-duty day of gallery-hopping or vintage hunting.

    Casual Friday
Ease the pain of the still-at-work weekend countdown by sneaking your comfiest skinnies into your office attire. Dress them up with a quirky-print button-up, an off-kilter loafer, and a bold-colored sweater tied around your waist for an effortlessly eye-catching ensemble. And when 5 p.m. finally hits? Dash out for a much-deserved drink (or nap).

    Urban Legend
We get it: Sometimes you really want the no-fuss look (and feel) of live-in jeans and a T-shirt. We’re with you — and we’ll raise you a pair of wear-all-day sneakers. Just keep the denim skinny, choose a silky, loose tee, and slide into kicks with a double-take-worthy design for a downtown vibe. Stash your everyday loot in a chic leather tote, and keep any early-fall chill away with a boxy black-denim jacket and pastel beanie.
