New Restaurant Will Open In A Moving Subway Car

You might balk at the thought of food anywhere near the subway, but Boqueria is about to change that. The popular Manhattan eatery recently launched El Tren, a tapas restaurant inside a refurbished "Redbird" car that runs on the A line every Thursday-Sunday from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m.. On the outside, you might think it's a regular passenger train, but peep inside and that old-world marble bar will have you transported straight to the Orient-Express.Though right now it's strictly B.Y.O.B,, the moving eatery has an informal "don't ask, don't tell," policy, meaning your hip flask will pass without comment. Also on tap? A revolutionary air filtration system that means you won't have to smell the person next to you. There's also a small lounge area in the back of the car, meaning that now you have no excuse not to ask that hottie you see on your commute every day for a bite to eat. You'd be a strap-hanging fool not to check it out. (The Rundown)
