Lauren Buxbaum, design director

Tell us a little bit about your role.
"I, along with my codesign director, Sasha Adler, am responsible for essentially creating a collection of furniture and accessories for our clients that fit their individual lifestyles and that feel unique and layered. I have been working here for 10 years, and there is never a dull moment. Each day I learn something, experience a new obstacle, or am challenged creatively. We are constantly trying to push our limits in terms of coming up with original ideas to make a space reach its utmost potential."

What’s your go-to work ensemble?
"I like to be comfortable when I’m not meeting with clients, so it’s usually boyfriend jeans, my rag & bone boots, a blazer, and some vintage jewelry."

Favorite Nate Berkus product?
"I am kind of obsessed with Nate’s blue resin pineapple. I like it because it’s not so serious, and to me, decorating with a little sense of humor is important."

What’s your favorite in-office tradition?
"Occasionally, our staff pauses at the end of the day to seek reprieve in the lounge area of our office. It’s nice to gather over a glass of wine and talk about everything but work. Our days are usually extremely busy, so this is a real treat."

Do you keep anything cool or interesting at your desk?
"My dog, Violet. How many people get to bring their pets to work? She is definitely my best accessory."

Buxbaum is wearing an ASOS top, Prada skirt, Tabitha Simmons shoes, a vintage Yves Saint Laurent necklace, and an Hermès cuff.
