One of my favorite LA-only activities that I’ve been doing since I was a little kid is clocking in some mother-daughter time at the Huntington Library. Before you think of me as a super nerdy child, the library sits on 207 acres of fauna. With a cacti garden, a Japanese bonsai tree sanctuary, along with secluded ponds shaded by weeping willows, the Huntington Botanical Gardens is a haven for Angelenos seeking some respite from the city chaos.
After walking around the hundreds of acres, my mom and I like to take a pit stop at the Rose Garden Tea Room. With its tiny cucumber sandwiches and precious bite-size desserts, this wallpapered room feels perfectly Elizabethan. The best part is that it’s all you can eat, so you can stuff you face all day long if you like. For our garden and tea date I chose this pretty pink dress with its scalloped ruffled tiers. I love the delicate lace and thought a candy-colored necklace would be perfect to top it off.
