Go Back To The Basics In Black & White Essentials

Web When I find myself dreaming of strolling the streets of Paris, café au lait in hand, but then realize I'm actually located in West L.A. (with no vacation in sight), then I resort to the next best thing: dressing up and going to the best French restaurant in town. The Helms Bakery District of L.A. doesn't get a lot of fanfare but it has one of my favorite French spots, La Dijonaise Café.

For the non-occasion, I wore a classic full black skirt with a white button-up. It’s simple and comfortable — perfect for an afternoon of eating and catching up with a girlfriend. As any style blogger will tell you, carrying a large bag is a must when you need to make room for your camera. I chose this structured satchel, which stays in line with the B&W palette I've got going on. To keep things interesting, I let my bright pink lips do all the talking.
