I swear Chicago winters are longer than anywhere else. As soon as you think spring is here, cold weather strikes again. On the first warm day of the season, the city comes out of hibernation — Oak Street beach opens up, restaurants start serving al fresco, Michigan Avenue is flooded with shoppers, and we change our closets to reveal airy dresses and spring sandals.
Today, I stopped by work and decided to spend the afternoon shopping on Armitage in Lincoln Park. To stay comfortable all day, I paired my favorite pair of printed sandals with a striped T-shirt and floral scarf. The mix of patterns creates an effortlessly cool vibe while still staying laidback and comfortable. This season, I am obsessing over neutral sandals with a twist: metallic accents, neon stripes, patterns, cutouts, and different textures. A no-brainer when it comes to springtime in the Windy City.
