2 Sweet Ways To Layer For Cooler Temps

Layering is part of my routine all year-round, but there's something about fall that makes me want to strip my closet and stick to the basics. It's the one season when layering consists of all of my favorite items: sweaters, dresses, skinnies, and scarves. For these fall essentials, I swung by T.J.Maxx so that I can get every seasonal item I want without shopper's guilt — it's my version of having it all. Click through to see how I'm wearing my fall favorites on the regular. It just might inspire you to pull out your scarves early!

This dress from T.J.Maxx serves as the perfect segway to fall with its black and white palette. Layering a dress with a collar necklace and sweater is effortlessly chic. I'm letting the ikat print of the dress shine with a neutral sweater and suede booties.

This is the type of outfit that I can wear to everything. From meeting my clients to grabbing a bite to eat at the swanky Curio lounge, I can take the city by storm without feeling like I need to stop at home for an outfit change — a win-win in my book.

Most days I rely on basics to create an outfit that feels soft and understated. A denim jacket can be the icing to almost any look so I like to dress it up with a fun brooch and pair it with easy whites.

When the weather is perfect (think 68 and sunny), I move my office outdoors. This look is ideal for afternoons working in the park. I can wear these distressed skinnies from T.J.Maxx far past Labor Day. If the weather gets cooler, I’ll add a sweater on top of the tee, but right now this denim jacket is all need.
