One of the great things about having a fashion blog is being able to go back and look at how your style has evolved and changed over time. I started my blog, Gal Meets Glam, a little over two years ago, and while I like to think the basics of my style have stayed somewhat similar, looking back at some of my first posts can be a little cringe-worthy.
But, I do have some pieces that proved to be staples in my closet through the years, which just goes to prove that quality over quantity is really important. All of those spur-of-the-moment Forever 21 buys are long gone, but I still love the pieces that I invested a little more time and money into, like this leather jacket.
When I was in college (read: broke and in debt), I found this leather jacket on sale. I was ecstatic and to this day, I still wear it almost every week. The camel color is timeless and the biker style adds some edge. But, what I really love about it is the leopard lining, which looks really awesome when you roll up the sleeves!
Years ago, I bought this Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony dress for a wedding, but I've worn it countless of times since. I love pairing it with a chunky sweater or with some tights and booties in winter.
This Nicole Miller pleated skirt was another great find that I bought at a local, designer thrift store a few years ago. The knee length is so feminine and I love the creamy, neutral color. Then, I wore it with my hair pulled back and some stiletto pumps for a more formal outfit, but I'm finding new ways to incorporate it into my daily, more casual wear.
