How To Go From Girly To Grungy In A Pinch

We tend to fall into two different camps: Girly or edgy. But I like to think that I'm both — often at the same time. I love the grungy aesthetic, but I don’t want to sacrifice my femininity in the process. So, I've managed to pick up a few tricks to straddle the line between the two, like I did with this coral dress.

In my “girly” look, I kept the accessories to a minimum to keep things simple. Just an easy bracelet and a couple rings will do the trick. The opposite goes for my grunge look. I want my accessories to be chunky and bold. Then I ditched my It bag for a black leather backpack.

And for the kicker (pun intended), I swapped my ankle-strap heels for a pair of combat boots, which always toughen up any outfit. I love these H&M boots in particular because they have cutouts and silver hardware.
