Every Thursday night at 10 p.m., I’m glued to my TV, rooting for Scandal's Olivia Pope. Though I love the drama, I also tune in for the fashion. Sure, she's not in the preppy-trendy outfits of Gossip Girl, but girl really knows how to work those pantsuits, prim coats, and pale colors. Pope’s wardrobe is the stuff that every fashion-girl-trapped-in-an-attorney's body dreams of. But, even if you're not me of the attorney-by-day, blogger-by-night variety, this show will still give you a newfound appreciation for stylish work wear.
Since watching the show, I’ve started paying closer attention to my 9-to-5 attire and opting for outfits that were equal parts work-appropriate and fashion-forward. This dress is my latest obsession. The strategic cutouts are definitely trendy, but the demure length and cut make it perfectly appropriate for most office settings. And if not, you can just throw on a well-cut blazer only to reveal your dress in its full awesomeness come happy hour.
