A look that's being revived from the '70s is metallic gold — and lots of it. To make it more wearable, my trick is to pair it with crisp white — white works really well with metallic, since it allows the gold pieces to literally shine.
While wearing gold might sound intimidating, it's actually really easy to wear, like this outfit. I pulled this gold-hued look together with an amazing skirt, designer blouse, and strappy sandals — all found at T.J.Maxx. I'm particularly obsessed with the blouse, which I can wear with anything. And when paired with the muted gold skirt, this outfit easily converts from work to dinner. If I wanted to polish up the look, all I'd need is a dark-colored blazer in black or navy blue.
I chose these shoes because they have just the right amount of height to make them easily wearable: for a Saturday stroll on the High Line with an iced coffee, to Paradou for a deadly bottomless brunch with my girlfriends, or even to all the weddings I have coming up. I like buying quality pieces that I can wear over and over again, like these heels, which were such a steal. Oh, and see how great my fresh white nails look against the gold heels? I told you this was a winning combo.
And for the final touch: jewelry. Layering necklaces, rings, and bracelets is so on trend. If you start with a neutral canvas, there's room to layer on an extra necklace or two.
