While recently rummaging through my collection of handbags, I noticed that I'd amassed a rather large number of ladylike, structured bags over the years. I've always been drawn to vintage-inspired shapes, but I'm now realizing a serious void of slouchy totes to toss over my shoulder on a lazy weekend. So now I'm looking for something a little bit more bohemian...something I can wear with my new white cotton midi dress, like a classic bucket bag, perhaps?
Naturally, I took to Twitter
to get your suggestions, and the resounding response was a certain vintage Coach bucket bag. Of course it had to be one of their vintage styles that has yet to be resurrected for its legacy collection. So, I took my hunt to Etsy and Ebay and a few hours (and clicks) later, I had secured my very own, mint condition vintage Coach classic in a dark nutty brown leather for about $50.
From the instant it arrived at my door, it's been my summer go-to for pairing with easy summer outfits. If you have the time and sheer will to go for it, I'm sure you can find one in a good thrift score at half the price I found it for. But, as a service to those who don't have the patience to stalk the thrift store shelves or obsessively check resale sites, I thought I'd round up some of the most covetable bucket bags that are available now. They may not have the most affordable price tag, but a girl can dream, can't she?
