How To Wear Stripes Without Looking Like A Referee

web1
Stripes are everywhere this season, but if you're late in the game, here are a few tips to make sure you nail this look every time.
Tip 1: Pick a garment you are comfortable playing around with. I love skirts and can style them a hundred different ways, so I picked a skater skirt that I know will be easy to wear.
Tip 2: Treat stripes like neutrals. I tried combining stripes with other neutrals but found they work best with bright colors, so I picked a blue textured sweater to provide a summery contrast to the black and white.
Tip 3: Pair with simple accessories. I played with adding bright shoes and a statement necklace to the outfit, but loved the look best with a chunky rope heel and minimal jewelry.
You can also introduce stripes into your look with a small accessory, like a clutch, to give your outfit an effortlessly chic vibe.
Vivat Veritas contrast vertical stripe skater skirt, $65; Arteaga bateau neck knit sweater, $136, both available at ANTHOM; Alexander Wang rope heels.
