A Tomboy's Guide To Date Night

comments

WEb I know what you’re thinking. You like your edgy, menswear style and there’s no way you’d trade it in for a feminine silhouette with a ruffled hem. But date night doesn't have to require pink dresses covered in rosettes. While there's nothing wrong with girlish dresses, it's just not you. So, I've got some tips for a flirty look without sacrificing your tomboy swag.

The trick is to introduce one feminine element into your outfit, like peekaboo or lace detailing, a high-waist, or a soft palette. For my look today, I'm going for high-waisted pants, which help accentuate curves. A little skin by way of a crop top never hurt anyone, and this one has mesh panels for some peekaboo action. I chose to go with stilettos in this great berry color to play up the girly accent.

I like to think that wearing a good hat at night is the equivalent of wearing a killer pair of sunglasses during the day. All of a sudden your outfit feels more put-together. Plus, it’s fun to border on mysterious.
