Inside the life and closet of our style star du jour. By Megan Baldwin, Photos by Olivia Jade Horner

Most of the time the names on a magazine or website masthead are just that…names. Well, thankfully Sarah Frances Kuhn, accessories editor of Teen Vogue, is just as cool as the stuff she commits to gloss every month. Actually, cooler. How, you wonder, could she outshine her expertly chosen melange of pitch-perfect bags, baubles, and bangles? Well, first there's the amazing Williamsburg apartment she shares with her artist/musician boyfriend. Then there's her off-the-masthead hobby as a singer and guitarist in not one, but two bands—Left Coast (her band with her boyfriend) and the newly formed Mystical Box (in which Eviana Hartman of Bodkin and Jil Bradshaw of I Heart are her mates). And last but not least there's her style: a chic vintage-grunge mash-up that invades everything from her playlist to the warm, So-Cal feel of her home…and of course the closet she allowed us to invade.

How would you describe your personal style?
Grunge chic
What five pieces define your personal style?
Vintage dresses, black tights, lots of rings, T-shirts wedges.
What is your most recent purchase?
A pair of Dolce Vita wedge gladiator sandals.
What is one thing you would never be caught wearing?
Hmmmm…flip-flops in the city.
Who is your style soul-mate?
It's a three way tie between Anaïs Nin, Mariska Veres from the band Shocking Blue, and Anna Karina.

As the accessories editor for Teen Vogue, you get first look at the goods. What's on your wish list this season?
I really want to get a pair of over-the-knee boots for next fall.
Do you have a secret store that you're willing to reveal?
Flores Antique Clothing in Williamsburg.
If you could swap closets with anyone who would it be?
I would love to have swapped jewelry boxes with Jimi Hendrix.
How much is too much to spend on a pair of shoes?
I never spend more than $150 on shoes.
