Inside Topshop's 48-Hour Montauk Party... We're Still Recovering
By Alice Tate & Kristian Laliberte
We’ve told you before how much we love Montauk...the epic waves, the bike-friendly roads, the breathtaking sunsets. Okay, let's face it, this is 2012, so we're also talking about the endless beachy-chic fashion show and full-on, balls-to-the-wall party that starts with bloodies at 11:00 a.m. and ends with a $20 taxi closer to sunrise.
The nexus of this scene has to be the O.G. haute hipster hang out, the Surf Lodge, which last weekend continued its honorary role as keg-master with a Topshop-hosted 48-hour event celebrating the British brand's weekend-long pop up shop. With concerts by the likes of Chairlift and The Kills, a consistent buzz thanks to Caliche rum, and on-trend threads on tap (camo coats are still riding high), it's no wonder that half the Manhattan fash-pack headed out East. Despite the rain (we stopped noticing the weather around 3 p.m....damn margaritas), we managed to snag major style inspiration from the decked-out Topshop brand ambassadors, plus creative kids like Mark Ronson, Dree Hemingway, Annabel Tollman, and Josephine de la Baume, to name just a few.
Though it's already Tuesday, we're still feeling the after-effects, but these 21 MTK snaps are making us feel a bit better. Ready for round two?
