Tip 4: Fresh Flowers
"There is no substitute for what fresh flowers bring to a table. A mass of flowers in a single color always have a ton of impact over a mixed arrangement. If you have a small budget for flowers, look for bud vase containers that have a small opening. Single stems scattered along the table can be modern, affordable, and just as beautiful as large arrangements. Cutting floral stems on the lower side will not only allow you to talk over them, but will make your arrangement appear fuller."
"If possible, buy stems that are a bit unopened so that you can trim the stems and force the bloom in time for your party. I personally use a lot of roses because they are easy to work with, do not have a strong fragrance, and they last a long time. If you want to bring fresh flowers as a hostess gift, consider a potted orchid so that the host does not have to stop what they are doing to put flowers in water."
