"Make your guests feel welcome. Have options when it comes to food and drinks and, whatever you do, don't ask people to take their shoes off at the door."

And for being a gracious guest?
"RSVP in a timely manner, try to show up on time, offer to help during the party, and say everything is delicious even it is isn't."
