Are Middle Parts The New Side-Parts?

When we talk about hair trends, we tend to look at cuts and styles. But, this year's mane inspiration is as easy to achieve as pulling out your old-school rattail comb. All over the runways, models have been sporting middle parts — and there's a '70s, glam-rock feel to it that we're very into.
For years, face-softening side-parts have reigned supreme. Why? The middle part opens up your face and makes it appear wider. Since it's such a severe accent, it can make your features look, well, severe.
So, what makes its return different this time? If runway styles are any indication, it has everything to do with the rest of your hair — the models all had tousled, relaxed tresses. This is not the time to whip out your flat iron and go to town — a rumpled look makes the part more flattering.
Not gonna lie: We're digging this trend because it's incredibly easy to create. If your hair is rebelling, take your blowdryer and train it to fall the way you want it to. Think you're ready to split it down the middle? Click through to see some inspiration.
