Holy Moly: The Newest Menswear Fashion Blog Comes From A Pastor
Though most folks turn to pastors for biblical rather than sartorial guidence, Miami/Dallas megachurch minister Ed Young is doing his damnest (oops, darnedest) to preach a bit of style from the pulpit. Holding forth from Pastorfashion.com (can't believe that address was free), Young offers what he calls "Fashion Tips For the Faithful" tailored to an evangelical audience (a set not known for refined tastes). Unfortunately, we're not down with all of this lay pastor's commandments. He's against "sensual" dressing, belts with suits, and, one would assume, sex before marriage. But we, like Young, believe that bulky suits are unholy and that, "square-toe shoes are from the Devil". And, we applaud Young's effort to bring standards to his flock, even if he comes off like Ned Flanders trying to "kick it" with the kids. "If people take a step and think about it they would see it. God created color, God created design. He created things that look nice and we're simply doing what he wants us to do. Being a follower of Christ should be cool because God is cool, God is hip." We're no theologians, but we never thought of God as Karl Lagerfeld — or vice versa for that matter. Generally, though, we're going stick to Glenn O'Brien for menswear tips and keep our own counsel on the rest, if no one minds. What say you? Should religion and fashion mix, or is vanity a true sin? We Got Shady With Chanel Iman In Miami — Read On, Voyeurs

Open any luxury fashion mag and you will be sure to spot model Chanel Iman grinning back winningly, or creating major body envy, or both. (Also, Chanel as a killer? Well, killer.) Yes, we always love to see her adorned in Dolce and Gabbana or Dior, but — this is Miami —spying her peepers' game is pretty awesome: A pair of Tom Fords here, some Ray-Bans there. We caught up with the Victoria’s Secret Angel this week for Sunglass Hut’s Summer Block Party in Miami to celebrate the opening of their largest store yet. Although she admits to loving a good pair of sunnies, this Vogue cover girl is anything but shady.

Would You Be Someone's Online Girlfriend For Money?

For $5 you can hire someone to "like" your Facebook photos, make your filtered artsy Instagrams seem appreciated ...or, uh, fake a break-up in Spanish. From simple interactions we take for granted to larger manipulations, it's listings like these that litter GirlfriendHire.com, a new website launched out of Naples by a 22-year-old entrepreneur.
The locally based site works like this: Girls sign up to deliver services to boys for a $5 in a variety of categories aimed, mostly, at satiating pretty understandable net-related anxiety and loneliness. While this ranges between feeling exploitative to just sad, GirlfriendHire also speaks to how important social media "cool" is to young dudes, as evidenced by the multitudes of posts from guys just looking for a gal to wish him happy birthday on text and Facebook — and the girls willing to oblige.
For instance, check out a few of the current listings that'll only cost lovelorn boys a Lincoln: two comments on Facebook pictures or Wall; unlimited texting for two weeks; online messaging friend forever; whatever it takes to make a girl jealous; or a former Miss Puerto Rico who will send pictures of herself. While most of the posts border safely at the PG-13, there seem to be just as many flaunting bikini shots as there are ladies who are honestly looking to make a buck just be being a warm body.
As long as the internet exists (and we care about what others think, which'll be forever), we’ll see the enterprising tap into our anxieties — so we've got a suggestion: Rebrand the company and drop the “girl” bit, because it looks like there’s an untapped market here of individuals looking to look “fake” cool on the internet...or just be less lonley. Just sayin’. (Nuts! We should’ve charged five big ones for that.) (Miami New Times)

Tour The Awe-Inspiring Apartment Of One Of NY's Most Stylish CEOs

We've given you the inside scoop on her enviable wardrobe and closet, and now, you can marvel at the entire Soho pad of Webster CEO, Laure Heriard Dubreuil. Laure and her fiancé, artist Aaron Young, are the subjects of the latest Lifestyle Mirror cover story. The fashionable couple is photographed cooking and lounging in their not-so-humble abode (we're talkin' 3,000 square foot of fabulousness!). And, as usual, the best part of the article (arguably) is the fact that (almost) everything featured in the pics is instantly shoppable. The site's editors have even found replicas of the stylish duo's one-of-a-kind furniture and art, so you can draw instant inspiration from one of NYC's (and Miami's!) most cutting-edge couples. Check out the story to read about what inspires these two, and to ogle all the Labels, with a capital "L."
7 Tips For Dressing Your Home In Tropical (Not Cheesy!) Decor
With BBQs, pool parties, and breezy evening drinks filling your at-home entertaining agenda, summer is a great time to revamp your living space. We love the tropical flavor that Magic City brings, but sometimes getting that particular MIA ambiance in your home can result in one too many plastic flamingos and palm fronds. So, while adding color and regional decor is fun, any decor guru knows that without a sophisticated touch, it’s easy to lean more Buffett than beachy. To strike the right balance, we chatted up Jesse Brody of Circle Art At Home for tips and tricks on tropical decor that leave grandma-esque prints where they belong — with Nana.
