Weird Trend We're Digging: Golf-Inspired Shoes

Golf: A sport with unparalleled elegance and unmatched panache. Because sunny SoFla is a default destination for those craving glistening green fields with beaming flags and sand dunes, golfer style is never overtly trendy, but has been appearing in our periphery as of late. Enter le golf-inspired shoe: an oxford-like sole often adorned with tassels and always oozing with refinement.
The golfer brogue is a classic American staple, a signifier of the well-heeled prepster life. Tory Burch has jumped on the bandwagon golf-cart with a colorful pair. But if you really have an inkling for detail, Jack Will’s brogues and F-Troup's golf flats will have you following every delicate curve that ornaments the leather. But no shoe can cause a cart collision such as Hexa by Kuho’s stomping sky high beauties. An odd choice for the green? Yes. But we know your style knows no boundaries.
So what do you think? Are these shoes appropriate for The Masters? Or are they better left behind at the mini course? We’ll let you decide. As for us, we’re grabbing these and swinging for a hole-in-one.
Clockwise from top: F-Troup Golf Flat Shoes, $234, available at ASOS; Tory Burch Ruth Loafer, $227, available at Tory Burch; Hexa by Kuho Fringed Heels With Ankle Strap, $715, available at Opening Ceremony; Jack Wills Glenthorne Brogue, $298, available at Jack Wills.
Finally! Cute Miami Heat Gear For The Gals, And Just In Time For Game 5
Alright ladies, we know some of you aren’t merely going to Heat games for the actual playing time. We see your heads following around Mister Wade, and it’s not for his three-pointers, alone. But while his eyes might be glued to the court, it doesn’t mean the crowd’s can’t be on you. Since Game 4 is out of the way and we're one shot from the playoffs, there's no better time to show some pride and stand out from the infantry of red and black. Our courtside-chic pick: This grey retro tank from Mitchell & Ness, a duo that's taken on the task of outfitting the world in refreshingly fashionable sportswear with a classic twist.
Trendify it with some red jeans or make it casual with low-key blues. Either way, you’ll give the players some stiff competition without needing to look “white hot."
Mitchell & Ness Miami Heat Pre-Game Tank Top, $40, available at Karmaloop.

Must Peep: A Bauble Lookbook Inspired By MIA's Art Deco Past
We're always mucho flattered when designers get inspired by our stomping grounds, especially brands with international pedigrees. First, the British were grooving on our glorious beaches when Julia Smith debuted that oh-so-chic, eco-friendly blazer, and then Charlotte Olympia gave our toes the tropical treatment. What can we say? We're iconic!
Now getting into the MIA-inspired action is French brand Reminiscence. The bauble maker is channeling our bright neon lights and outstanding shores with a collection entirely composed of statement-making baubles. Loaded with oversized pearls, Technicolor rhinestones, and eye-catching gems, we think the line does a pretty decent job depicting our snazzy city. Peruse these alluring Art Deco snaps from the brand's lookbook and we think you'll agree!

Rad Or Bad: Is This Pineapple Bag Sweet Or Too Fruity?

Spring has sprung, and that means it's time to start incorporating more color and crazier prints into your wardrobe. But, we think ASOS may be taking that a little too literally. Behold the Pineapple Bag; a feat of engineering so remarkable that, to the untrained eye, it appears as if one has literally super-glued a shoulder strap to a piece of fruit. The leaves are even a hidden flip top for this leafy satchel. While we love chowing down on a pineapple during summer barbecues, we're not so sure we want to carry our lip gloss in one. What do you think of the Pineapple Bag — legit summer trend, or cheesy tourist flair? Let us know below!

How To Rock The Palm Floral Without Looking Like Grandma
Like Miranda Priestly so aptly quips, "Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking." Maybe The Devil Wears Prada editrix is on to something: The rest of the country might go nuts over delicate pinks and baby blues, but come mid-March's 80-degree weather, bright florals begin to feel more like a wallpaper solution than something that'll inspire our closet choices.
Yet, down south, springtime prints don't need to mean Easter bunnies and overly femme frocks. In fact, in the wake of the retro, '50s-inspired opulence brought on by the Mad Men craze, one formally cheesy floral really stands out: The palm print. Once the realm of grandfathers and Robin Williams' Bird Cage character, the palm print is not only definitively back, but is undeniably cool, too. By taking tropical colors — teal, electric purple, fiery orange — the palm floral takes all the vibrance of the season and makes it way more fun. So here are 13 of the most sophisticated, eye-catching, and wardrobe revamping items to get you rocking this season's tropical floral print. Just remember: Keep palm and carry on!

8 Ways To Wear Your Initials Without Looking Like A Teenybopper
The days of wearing shirts with bedazzled Ns on them and bracelets from Claire’s that bore your best friends initials are over. But honestly, we’re having belated pangs of withdrawal. So, to feed our alphabet addiction, we poked around the web to find the best ways to wear your favorite letter — the grown-up way (obvi).
And not to too our own horns, but we were pretty impressed with our findings. Instead of rhinestone-monogrammed shirts (yikes!) we’re thinking big gold statement rings and personalized handbags. It’s time to reconsider standing in that line at Claire’s, and instead, click through our slideshow of all things monogrammed.

Vanessa Hudgens Wears Overalls Poolside In Miami: Cute, Or Not So Much?
We thought we had seen it all when it came to poolside fashion. But denim overalls? This may be a first. Vanessa Hudgens and boyfriend Austin Butler escaped to Miami for a hot getaway — and a few appearances, of course — last week. While the Sucker Punch actress is known for her bohemian style, we’re not quite sure what look she was going for last week, wearing Free People Raer Donna overalls on top of a black, crochet swimsuit. Covered in several layers of necklaces, and sporting a messy bun, we could see how in dry land maybe it could all work together. But has anyone told the starlet that a wet bikini butt and denim are not a fun combo? (Just Jared)What do you think about Vanessa Hudgens beachy look? Drop us a comment.

Your Holiday Guide To Bright, Shiny Things
In the past few years, sparkle has gotten a pretty bad rep. Ed Hardy, anyone? But this holiday season, there are plenty of sophisticated ways to bling it on—and none of them include rhinestones. Whether you’re thinking of wearing shimmer on your sleeves, your toes, or your head, this roundup of bright, shiny things is sure to shed some positive light on the trend.
And in case you fear looking like a disco-dancing Christmas ornament (hey, it's a legit concern), we asked Savvy Girl boutique owner Kristy Ferradas to offer a few tips:
“Go with either a sparkle short or skirt and pair it with a solid blouse or tank. Don’t over do the top!”
“Be careful with the color scheme you choose. Sparkle can either look cute or tacky. For example, red glitter pieces are never cute.”
“There’s a big difference between festive sparkle and cheap, chunky sequins. Be on the lookout!”
"Less is more when it comes to accessorizing a glitzy outfit."
"If you're scared about wearing sparkle, opt for fun, shimmery nails or lips."
Now you know. So, go ahead and shine your brightest.

A Chic Shop Owner Schools Us On Menswear (& Vows To Stop Smoking)
Remember that time you deemed every member of The Strokes as your style icons? And then that phase when you decided your (now ex) boyfriend’s button-down shirt paired with skinny jeans was your favorite look? And possibly this season, you're all about tuxedo dressing? When exactly did we all start dressing like dudes? We suppose we can thank style mavericks like Coco Chanel, Marlene Dietrach, and Yves Saint Laurent for the original inspiration. And we can thank Curve owner Nevena Borissova for continuing to provide fresh fodder on that front. Last Thursday night, cross-dressing was on everyone’s mind, when the stylist and high-end boutique owner discussed the huge influence menswear has had on women’s fashion during a talk at the Soho Beach House. Borissova covered everything from YSL’s Le Smoking and today’s blazers and comfortable trouser pants to the effects of Kurt Cobain-inspired grunge. After we were schooled on the history of trading hoopskirts for oxfords, we had to sit down with the lady of the hour for a quick chat.
So, we like menswear. But what’s the best way to wear it?
“I think that the key pieces for getting the menswear look is the blazer. A buttoned-up button-down with jewelry and maybe even a second color on top of it, would be great. And then rolling up slacks and adding oxfords is a way to get this look, even if you’re doing it with a feminine blouse.”
And advice for stylist hopefuls?
“I do think that you have to train the eye — going through magazines and finding what you like or what draws you in, is a good place to start. Look at movies, magazines, and blogs, and pull things that make your eyes or your heart or you stomach feel something different. I think that to be a good stylist, you have to acquire a lot of knowledge. You have to be able to look at a person and know what would look good on them.”
Who's doing the best job of pulling off the menswear look right now?
“Angelina Jolie. She slicks her hair. She dresses clean with no jewelry, and she still looks good.”
Any New Years resolutions?
“I’m absolutely quitting smoking. I’m getting hypnotized this time. I want to start working out. I’m 36 and Pilates is calling my name.”
What is one item you can’t live without?
“Right now, my sequin jacket.”
