DIY Saran Wrap Nails For A Perfect, Easy Miami Mani

Maybe you feel like you have two left hands (or right!) when it comes to experimenting with nail art. Or maybe you just can't come up with weird enough ideas to emblazon on your paws. Never fear, because this simple (and we do mean simple) nail art DIY courtesy of mani maven Get Nailed is a cinch...and perfect for the MIA day-to-day.

By using a peachy orange by OPI ("Bright Lights, Big Color") with a contrasting aqua from Orly (in "Frisky"), Chelsea of Get Nailed painted her nails, let them dry, and then used the saran wrap to literally "sponge" on the top coat for a coral-infused marble effect. The result is perfect for a shopping afternoon in Coral Gables (and will even look smart for a night out) — and can be done by anyone who is capable of painting a solid nail. Let us know if you've tried this clever marble-ing trick: We'd love to see the results!

The Ultimate In Nail Bling: The Standard Spa's Sculpture Mani

Nailed-by-Dzine-Standard Spa-Miami Beach-post

So, yeah, we’re pretty obsessed with nail art over here at Refinery29. From DIY graphic mani’s to Lady Gaga-inspired nails, we’ve covered it all when it comes to your fingertips. But right when we thought we had seen everything, The Standard Spa, Miami Beach’s nail technicians start decorating our digits with tiny metallic sculptures. We’re serious: Think three-dimensional gold leaves, bull horns, daggers, floral clusters, and blinged-out dollar signs that look really, really cool (but could also potentially poke your eye out).

The mini works of art were in celebration of the latest book from Standard Press (the hotel’s own imprint), Nailed . In his 192-page hardcover tome, Chicago-based artist Dzine explores the history of decorated digits (it signified social status in China at one time) and where the art form is headed. During Art Basel week, special guests were invited to to Perrier's nail lab at the hotel to get tricked-out fingers inspired by Dzine’s signature jewel-encrusted paintings. And while the treatments were by-invitation-only last week, the Miami Beach propert will be accepting appointments from the public for one week beginning on December 10. Hurry up and sang a spot, because they’re sure to go fast. And we don’t want to see you pointing any fingers — at least not at us.

When: Saturday, December 10 to Sunday, December 18.
Where: The Standard Spa, Miami Beach, 40 Island Avenue; 305-673-1717.
