Tuyo’s buzz has been steady under the sometimes-frenetic foodie scene (Comfort food! Pop-ups! Molecular gastronomy!). But it, too, touts a number of buzzy words (Celebrity chef! Fusion! Locally Grown! Edible organic garden!). And, Tuyo is helmed by Chef Norman Van Aken, the “founding father of New World cuisine.”

The restaurant’s view is spectacular, but let’s talk about the food. The Spice menu is Mexican themed (for now, but changing throughout the program) and includes ingredients like “salsa of life,” house chorizo vinaigrette, and ancho-sherry ice cream (served atop achiote-barbecued pork loin).
