
Matthieu Godard, db Bistro Moderne
Working under Chef Daniel Boulud is enough of a claim, but being a 32-year-old executive chef at one of his famed db outposts is truly next level. And, since we like our men like we like our food (as multinational and jet-setting as possible), we swoon over Godard's winning smile fish, which mixes Mediterranean flavors with his experience at seaside resorts (Bahamas, anyone?). A guy who travels, cooks, and speaks French? Are we dreaming? Godard reflects, "What I like best about my work, aside from the actual cooking, is the sense of family we have in the kitchen. I spend more time with my cooks than anyone else, and this means a lot to someone who’s left his own family behind to pursue a career." And he's sensitive, too. Swoon.
