4. Don't let style bloggers tell you what looks good.

Look in the mirror and find something that grooves with your body type. A more juicy dude will look more portly rocking a suit with super-slim two-inch lapels and a skinny tie (Sorry, GQ.) He'll need something in the three-inch lapel range to balance him out.

This also applies to the smaller gents, who may feel inclined to go with the Thom Browne/hipster Elf super-cropped look, but will notice they look boxy when they try to wear stuff like that. They are better off with a slightly longer jacket and pants that hit higher in their waist; it extends all the lines and makes your legs look longer.
