3. Go get that suit tailored.

Even if you're James Bond, you will have to get the suit tailored in some way. Chances are, you'll have to get the sleeves or pants shortened. A little secret no one knows is that all brands make the sleeves and pants on their off-the-rack suits a little too long. The reason? To fit as many dudes into a the S,M,L formats as possible.

The golden rule of tailoring is that you can subtract but never add, so brands expect you to fine tune the look on your own via a visit to your local tailor. When you go see the tailor, wear decent shoes and a long-sleeved collared shirt. Tell him you want a 1/2 inch of shirt cuff to show and that you want a slight break in the pants. What this means varies from tailor to tailor, but on the whole there is no way you will come out of this looking weird if you give him those exact instructions.
