The same goes for drinking. Meals typically begin with a glass of fresh juice. There are so many fruits in Colombia that they say you can drink two different juices every day for a month and never repeat a flavor. How 'bout them apples, Whole Foods?

On the other side of the spectrum, Medellín is also known for its fantastic local rum. This is about as far from Captain Morgan as you can get. No disrespect to the Captain, but this rum is meant for savoring in slow sips. Try a glass of the 12-year-aged variety, and you will officially become a liquor snob.
