It's 2013 — a new year, another chance to be a new-and-improved version of yourself. And thus, we're going to let last night's shenanigans slide, because you can make up for it with a classy brunch at a seriously dignified spot. The Mayflower Hotel's newly reopened resto, Edgar Bar & Kitchen, has already garnered some buzz for its clubby, old-Washington vibe and throwback atmosphere — after all, it was J. Edgar Hoover's favorite watering hole back in the day.
The resto's New Year's brunch is the perfect opportunity to soak up the ambiance (and maybe some of that booze still sloshing around in your belly) — start with the raspberry lemon ricotta pancakes, the mini chocolate Belgian waffles, or the Southern-fried breakfast, if you're really hurting this morning. That's right, no more hair-of-the-dog, kids — kick off the next 365 days with a grown-up meal. We promise, you'll feel better this way.
When: Today, January 1, from noon to 3 p.m.
Where: 1127 Connecticut Ave NW; 202-347-2233.
