Metamorphosis Reveals Marilyn Monroe’s Biggest Shoe Crush

When it comes to inspiring women, there's one blonde bombshell R29 cannot leave off the list: Norma Jeane Baker, or as we all know her, Marilyn Monroe. We love how she oozed sex appeal but kept it all wrapped up under a fashionable layer of elegance and composure, not to mention that whisper-thin voice that could make anyone's knees weak.
You may think you've seen every photo of this voluptuous vixen — from t-shirts to tattoos, and to the point where you could draw on that beauty mark with your eyes closed — but Metamorphosis by David Wills and Stephen Schmidt will make you think again. We could spend all day looking at the never-before-seen images juxtaposed with those iconic headshots and windy-day wardrobe malfunctions in the mega-sized photography book that simply blows us away.
However, we couldn't help but notice that threaded throughout the collection, Monroe, in all her pin-up perfection, seems to have taken a liking to a certain pair of lucite heels. We conclude that she has either amassed a nice collection of the same shoe in every color, or she's got the most amazingly-versatile sandals we've ever seen, tied with an interchangeable ribbon that keeps them wrapped tightly to her delicately pointed feet. Marilyn deserves another round of praise in Metamorphosis for not only being the quintessential starlet, but for rocking the most amazing pair of wear-everywhere heels we've ever seen. They just don't make 'em like they use to (believe us, we've checked).
