Manish Arora’s Inspired Collection Puts Stars In Our Eyes

Simple and understated may be nice, but in the case of Manish Arora's latest runway foray we're going to need to find new adjectives. "Ornate", "festive", "bold", and "opulent" were all words that our inner magpie cried at the sight of the spring '13 collection.

While Arora has previously taken cues from his own Indian background, it was a truly inspired collection that hit the runway — rich with cultural references in clothing and accessories. Sure, we may not attend our 9 a.m. board meetings in gold-foiled skirts, colorful and embroidered blazers, and ornamental head chains (may, we said may not), however, this presentation is still one of the most exciting we've seen during the entirety of Fashion Month, and RTW, in it's own special way.

Taking a break from anything expected, there was much to celebrate from the Manish Arora collection — if not for its innate celebration of Indian culture, then simply for the ability to make our eyes sparkle at the plethora of rich textures, psychedelic patterns, and drop-dead gorgeous golden embellishments.
