Pools are teeming with sunburned bodies, the thermostat in your car is at a permanent 93 degrees, and a sense of lazy relaxation permanently fills the afternoon air. Can you guess what time of the year it is? In Miami, it's mango season.
Consider them the ultimate super fruit — equally beneficial for your diet, your complexion, and your mane. Packed with vitamins A, C, and E, mangoes fight blemishes, brighten and hydrate your skin, prevent wrinkles, soften and defrizz your hair, support healthy eyes and bone growth, and even contain trytophan, the precursor to the happiness hormone. About the only thing mangoes don’t do is make their own delicious dishes. Since these exotic fruits are more accessible than taxi cabs in this city, we must admit: We’re getting a little bored of eating them au natural.
Yet, we've got hordes of 'em, and since they’re too much of a killer fruit to let go to waste, we’ve compiled six different things for you to do with your excess mangoes, from skin treatments and hair masks to tasty recipes and smoothies. That’s right, we’ve become mad about mangoes, and by the end of this slideshow you’ll be just about as mad as we are about them, too.
