Summer is in full swing, and with the harmful UV rays beaming, it’s important to lay off the hot tools and give your hair a break from styling damage. Whether you’re heading to the beach or just want a sweat-proof ‘do, we’ve gathered our favorite dog-days-of-summer-approved styles.

No-Heat Beach Waves
All you need for this effortless style is a couple of bobby pins and a sea-salt spray.

1. Part damp hair the evening before (to your natural part), creating two sections down the nape of the neck.

2. Mist generously with Sachajuan Ocean Mist.

3. Take one section at your ear and begin twisting from the middle to the end.

4. Bring twisted section of hair up to your scalp and secure with bobby pins.

5. Repeat on the other side.

6. Sleep with your hair pinned; then, take the pins out out in the morning and use your fingers to loosen the waves.

Natural-Hair Braided Headband
This one is for all you curly-haired ladies.

1. With damp or air-dried hair, create a section two inches from the front hairline to the top of each ear.

2. Starting at one ear, French braid just this piece to the other ear, then pin to secure.

3. Run a curl smoothing cream through the rest of your hair, and embrace your natural texture.

Reverse-Braided Top Knot
The best part of this heatless pony is that you can wear it right out of the shower. Can it get any easier than that?

1. Create two sections with your hair — one below where you would like your topknot to sit, and one above. Clip away the above section.

2. Flip your head upside down and create a French braid, working up towards the top of your head and beginning at the nape of the neck.

3. Secure the braid with a hair elastic and flip your head right-side-up.
4. Unclip the top section and gather the remaining hair to combine with your pony.

5. Twist the pony and use French pins to secure into a stylish topknot.

The Heatless Blowout
Fake a voluminous blowout and find something else to do while your hair dries.

1. Towel-dry clean, damp hair and spray generously with a texture spray.

2. Section your hair: one section from the center parting to your ear, a mohawk section, and two or three horizontal sections in the back of your head.

3. In the back, use your fingers to create pin curls out of one-inch sections of hair, securing each with a pin-curl clip.

4. On the front sections, curl the hair away from the face and secure.

5. Once the entire head as been pinned away, mist with hairspray and let dry naturally.

6. When dry, unclip hair and brush through with fingers.
