What appeared from afar to be polka-dotted patterns on the designs that debuted this week in Paris were actually recycled francs sewn into the garment's construction, as The Cut reports. Consider it the high-fashion, no-hands way of making it rain. Despite looking like something of a walking change purse, the bits that decorated these bohemian frocks aren't even enough to spring for a mask to complete your Margiela look; francs may make for fancy embellishments, but they were demonetized in 2005. Still, that doesn't mean they're worthless — they add up to the prettiest coin collection we've ever seen. (The Cut)
