Youth Lagoon, Young Magic, Mercury Lounge, November 14 and 15, $12 Trevor Powers managed to create one of the most deeply resonant, meticulously constructed pop albums in recent memory, and he did it all in the bedroom of his Boise, Idaho home. This week, we’ll see Powers bring The Year of Hibernation out of hiding and into the eyes and ears of New York City.
Monday, November 14 and Tuesday, November 15, Mercury Lounge, 217 East Houston Street (between Essex and Ludlow streets); 212-260-4700.

Philip Glass, Laurie Anderson, Santos Party House, November 16, $40 One of the most well-respected living composers, Philip Glass is playing a benefit to raise money for New York’s Film-Makers Cooperative — a non-profit, artist-run organization whose goal is to promote and create experiment cinema. A true legend, and a great cause.
Wednesday, November 15, 7 p.m. Santos Party House, 96 Lafayette Street (between White and Walker streets); 212-714-4646.
Lykke Li, First Aid Kit, The Wellmont Theatre, November 17, $30 Lykke Li’s beautifully emotional sophomore album, Wounded Rhymes, has proved to be one of the best (and mostly aptly titled) albums of the year. Now’s your chance to see songs like “I Follow Rivers” and “Get Some” live, but it’ll require venturing into the wilds of New Jersey — well worth the trip. Thursday, November 17, 7 p.m., The Wellmont Theatre, 5 Seymour Street (at Route 506), Montclair, New Jersey; 973-783-9500.
