Party Pics! The Hottest Housewarming Party We've Attended Yet

We're bringing back the house party. And the first order of business: a kickass location. Nowhere in L.A. will you find an apartment building with more lore than Hancock Park's El Royale tower. This indie abode has housed some of Hollywood's most sought-after creatives — Mae West, Clark Gable, Uma Thurman, and Cameron Diaz have all called the Spanish castle home at one point or another. And stories of ghosts and scandals abound: An oil heiress once left the building in nothing but her panties and a feather boa, while another gutsy tenant was evicted for running a gambling ring out of the garage.

When our very own Patrick Yee was given the keys to this haute high-rise, moving back in with his college pal, Wren designer Melissa Coker, we knew it was time to plan a good old house party. Spectacular views and ultra-glam art set the bewitching backdrops for an unforgettable evening of great convos and even better friends. Obviously, we snapped pics galore, so indulge your inner voyeur and take a gander at the good times had by all, in one of the most exceptional edifices in town.

Feeling Photogenic? This Camera Club’s Got A Show For You…

la_slide4 Sure, Instagram and Hipstamatic are great for gussying up pictures on the go, but photo purists know that both popular phone apps owe a lot to the folks behind Lomography. The company champions film photography, and offers a huge selection of gorgeous cameras, film, and equipment. But even fans of the brand might not know that Lomography also hosts super cool events at their gallery store in WeHo, such as parties, workshops, and film swaps.

This Saturday, Lomography is hosting a joint event with the lovely pop duo Macedo. Twin sisters Michelle and Melissa have used Lomography cameras in their music videos before, so it makes perfect sense that they’d both screen their newest vid and perform a mini-concert at the gallery. So. put this special bash on your calendar, and get psyched for a triple threat night of film, art, and music!

When: January 28th, 7p.m.to 9p.m.
Where: Lomography Gallery Store LA, 7998 Santa Monica Boulevard (at North Laurel Avenue), 323-301-1414; RSVP here.

Eyewear Line Lookmatic Hosts A Party Of Lookers

It's a no-brainer that the holidays give great cause for a celebration, but add in the debut of some affordable accessories, and it's a full-on bash! Revelers at the TenOverSix launch party for Lookmatic's line of super specs rejoiced by making wishes perched on Santa's lap, jamming to tunes by DJ Binki Shapiro, and of course, taking in all of the eye candy the store has to offer (including the ever-so-chic customers).

We spied some of L.A.'s brightest style stars trying on pairs of the collection's shockingly inexpensive statement pieces ($88 including the prescription!) and chatted with owner Joe Cole, who promised even bigger things are in store for his frames (perhaps a rad collab in the near future?).

What The Croc Happened At The Mulberry Party Last Night?

Mulberry jumped over to our side of the pond for a mega bash at the Chateau Marmont last night—all the way to the Pacific. Responsible for the most covetable handbags and impeccable street wear by-way-of-the-UK, Creative Director Emma Hill hosted a swanky soirée with a special performance by musical guest (and one of our own recent obsessions) Lana del Rey. In true ooh-la-la Mulberry fashion, fashion Anglophiles partied down among animal balloons, ginormous ice cream cones, and floating crocodiles that took a dip in the hotel pool. Style stars British and Yankee alike, including Kate Bosworth, Juno Temple, Louise Roe, Jamie King, Harley Viera Newton, and Gia Coppola, decked to the nines in Mulberry floaty frocks, dined al fresco around the toy filled pool. The night continued at Bungalow One to dance to DJ Twin Shadow's beats, before the ladies had to brave it back to America, albeit with a goody bag filled with bikinis, satchels, sandals, and hopefully a blow-up crocodile.

Click through to peep all the action, animals, and amazing looks we're loving from last night's main event!

Who knew it was so hip to be square? Some of L.A.’s brightest style stars headed over to Confederacy Boutique earlier this week to join host Ashton Kutcher to toast über-cool glasses line, Warby Parker. Partygoers like Bijou Phillips, Sarah Paulson, Emmy Rossum, and the boutique’s owner Ilaria Urbinati, all donned their vintage-inspired specs and sipped on Kanon Vodka while taking in the scene. The bash was the epitome of Cali cool for the stylish set, but don’t take our word for it — check out all the photos and frames from this week’s hottest party.
