Refinery29 x Wasteland Clothing Is Giving Away The Jeffrey Campbell “The Again…
One of our favorite things to do while we’re traveling is exploring local stores and rummaging for that perfect vintage find. Every time we’re in California, the one place we need to go is Wasteland, boasting the best selection of vintage, modern, and designer clothing. Since 1986, Wasteland has been the go-to shop for designers, stylists, and celebrities, and with stores in San Francisco, Melrose, Studio City, Burbank, and Santa Monica, we sometimes make a stop at a few different locations for their keenly curated selection of independent and established labels with a one-of-a-kind feel. While Wasteland sometimes has been the reason we’ve booked our trip to the Golden State in the first place, we’re extremely excited to hear that they’ll be launching an online store this July for our 24/7 shopping needs. Also coming in July is the hot new Jeffrey Campbell shoe, “The Again Ltd,” which will be sold exclusively at all Wasteland locations and on their online store. Sign up for Refinery29 and Wasteland’s newsletters for a chance to win the exclusive Jeffrey Campbell “The Again Ltd” shoe and a $250 Wasteland gift certificate. For more of the latest updates, gift codes, and giveaways, follow Wasteland on Twitter, like them on Facebook, and check out their blog. And don’t worry, Cali, we’ll find another excuse to return soon!

The Best of Fashion Plates: Los Angeles

We've gathered the outfits that'll make you the dish du jour at LA's hippest new spot for bright young things, Public.
Feel the joy of the lush life as you sit beneath hand-painted ceilings and atop over-stuffed upholstered chairs at Public, the newest spot nestled inside the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Chef Tim Goodell, the man behind 25 Degrees, presents a super-rich menu—Neapolitan meatballs with currants and pine nuts,
potato and three cheese fritters served in a dippable basil aioli—meant for the snacker who likes to nibble, or those with a serious lust for the reddest meats. Though the light is romantic, the tropical flora and moss-covered walls deserve a little sun, so choose something bright to stand out against all of the rich brass and wood tones. A place Don Draper would take his ladies—if they were LA-based—the retro-inspired floral tones and old school clutches look great alongside the diamond-tufted banquette. One promise though: Don't spoil your appetite on the legendary Parker House Rolls—they're to die for.
Public Restaurant, 7000 Hollywood Boulevard (at North Orange Drive), (323) 466-7000.
Clockwise, from top left: Dior Addict Lipstick in Singuliere 465, $28, available at Dior; Chained Wrap Watch in Yellow, $108, available at Nasty Gal; Diane Von Furstenberg 'Agantha' One-Shouldered Top, $385, available at Bloomingdale's; 3.1 Phillip Lim T-strap Platform Heels, $750, available at SSENSE.
Trend Challenge! Show Us Your Best Stab At Print Mixing

Our love-affair with stepping outside the pattern-box reached a fever pitch when Dries Van Noten sent a fantasy-mosaic of patterned concoctions down the runway in fall 2010, but let's just say we're big fans of print mixing, and have been for a while. Whether you're into Rachel Comey's off-beat combos, or Suno's punchy variety, we have a feeling this is a look that everyone can get behind. From mixing floral and geometric patterns to comboing stripes of different types, the possibilities of individual interpretations are endless. So, we're challenging you, dear readers, to a little style-off. You submit your best stab at mastering mixed prints on Maybelline's Facebook Fan page, and we play judge panel to the submissions. The look we think rocked their outfit best will win a gorgeous clutch from Foley + Corinna. How's that for an incentive?
Trend Challenge! We Want To See You Do A Bright Eye

For everyday looks, we tend to favor a fresh-faced approach for our makeup. But once the sun goes down and the party frocks go on, it's all about something that really pops. On the runways, brightly colored eye makeup let your lids do the talking—from a severe swipe of neon at Yigal Azrouel to a more subdued wash of electric color at Oscar de la Renta, bright eyes inspired us to up our own nighttime makeup game. We want to see your take on this eye-popping trend! Show us your version of the bright eye on Maybelline's Facebook Fan page, and we'll pick our favorite. The gal who we think painted like a master scores an evening clutch worth $200. May the brightest beaut reign!
