A Must-Watch: Chris Benz For Movado Collection!

movado_embed Sure, Times Square may be the NYE crowd favorite for New Yorkers, but we’d much rather watch the clock strike twelve nestled indoors with a timepiece from the Chris Benz for Movado Bold Collection snuggled up to our wrist. This Benzian take on the time honored classic (the iconic Museum dot-dial “drips” and bears the designer’s signature smoke print on the strap) clocks in at $550. We’re determined to make it hours (get it?) before the ball drops!

Rashida Jones Romps (And Rocks!) At Rebecca Taylor's New Digs

rashidaFor Rebecca Taylor's first foray into La La Land retail, champagne was swilled (Veuve, no less), celebs like Emma Roberts and Kristen Bell were spotted, and naturally, lots of shopping was done. The Robertson Boulevard outpost houses all of those fancy feminine frocks we love from the designer, but to make the new store even more tantalizing (like this is even possible!), RT has curated limited-edition collaborations with the likes of cult classics Cosabella and Chan Luu. All temptations aside, Rashida Jones was the style star of the night, pairing the cutest romper with a quirky-yet-cool compilation of accessories—don't those specs suit her vibe perfectly?

Another Week, Another James Franco Project In The Works

James-of-all-trades-Franco has signed on to direct and photograph the next Seven For All Mankind campaign, and thank god—he had a gaping hole in his resume, and adding ad-director to his list certainly helps patch it up. According to the Seven team, they tapped Franco because he "encapsulates that idea of freedom of expression and being modern in California," while on Franco's end, the actor says he signed on because, "it’s an excuse to be creative....." Right, with an acting portfolio longer than the OWS list of complaints (and a creative writing degree), it's hard to find an outlet. The shoot will take a decidedly "non-fashion" approach, relying more heavily on narrative and storytelling... and hopefully a Soap Opera moment, too. (WWD)

British Invasion: London's Hottest Designers Hit L.A.

The British Fashion Council's international showcase, LONDON show ROOMS, made its Los Angeles debut yesterday at Ace Gallery—and it was, in a word, amazing. Hot off the heels of successful stints in Paris and New York, the showroom presented London's brightest stars of British fashion to a slew of West Coast buyers, stylists, and press. While fondling fresh-off-the-runway looks was exciting enough, the landmark event also gave us the opportunity to chat one-on-one with some of our favorite designers across the pond, including Erdem, Jonathan Saunders, Nicholas Kirkwood, Mary Katrantzou, Todd Lynn, Marios Schwab, and Peter Pilotto. Take a peek at our slideshow from the festivities. Anglomania!

Inside Gap 1969’s Inspiring Downtown L.A. Studio…

After a few recent shakeups, The Gap is once again hitting its stride, thanks in no small part to the super-talented staff behind the new fall 1969 Premium Denim collection. After popping by 1969’s infinitely cool Downtown digs for a Vogue-hosted preview, we're 100% sure that there’s something for everyone to scoop up at their Robertson boutique. With beyond-flattering skinny jeans, awesome parkas, and cropped coats that are so not frumpy, and cool cords in bright, of-the-moment hues, this line is a slam-dunk for every fall essential imaginable. Of course, the best part of previewing the collection was meeting the stylish staff responsible for bringing The Gap back to the forefront, including women’s designer Rosella Giuliani, the menswear maestro Jason Ferro, and their supremely chic employees who are breathing new life into the mass brand. So, armed with our camera, we headed to the DTLA studio for some outfit inspiration, office-envy, and a sneak-peek at the lust-worthy—and insanely well-priced—fall staples. Start making your list now…

Click through to take the studio tour, see what the staff is wearing, and check out our interview with 1969's Creative Director, Rosella Giuliani.

Video: O.C. Says Hawaiian Prints Are Cool Again, Will Get You Wasted

Ah, young love...who doesn't remember the days when they were a beautiful model wearing fancy clothes, wandering around L.A. drinking Malibu out of bottles, tanning, falling in love and off of bikes? To celebrate the launch of Hawaiian brand Reyn Spooner's collection for Opening Ceremony, OCTV is debuting 22, Gia Coppola's new video featuring Reyn Spooner's kitschy-cool Hawaiian prints. In it, she definitely takes a leaf out of her auntie Sofia's book, with a dreamy, hazy filter that can't help but recall The Virgin Suicides–but without the suicide and possibly without the virginity. Diet Pepsi references, teenage smoking, hipsters with Bud Light playing with a watermelon...So, wait, if we buy Reyn Spooner our lives will be exactly like this, right? Only if we get that soundtrack, too (Best Coast, if you had a doubt). It's official, Hawaiian prints will be spotted in Red Hook next.

Steinfeld Looks At Least Twice Her Age In New Miu Miu Ad

We knew that 14-year-old True Grit actress Hailee Steinfeld was slated to be the next face of Miu Miu, but we're still blown away by the first look at her stunning new ad campaign. If we didn't know better, we'd never have guessed that the girl in this fall 2011 shot is the young starlet: The angular shades and shoulders, knee-length skirt, and sophisticated shoes make her look at least twice her age. So far, we've adored everything Steinfeld has worn on the red carpet, so here's hoping that this partnership skyrockets her to style-icon status. (Stylecaster)

Eva, Angelina, and Freida Are Head-To-Toe Salvatore Ferragamo Fans

No one likes to let their age show, but Salvatore Ferragamo, a brand that's a few years from their 100th birthday, has never looked better thanks to Creative Director Massimiliano Giornetti. To keep the brand current, Giornetti looked back to Ferragamo's roots, breathing new life into the storied fashion house by returning to the European sophistication for which they're known. The womens RTW spring/summer '11 collection embodies the Florentine jetsetter with a combination of tailored and flowy pieces, and deep jewel tones mixed with neutrals. And as proof of the brand's successful revival, celebrities such as Eva Mendes, Angelina Jolie, Freida Pinto, and the beautiful Italian model Bianca Balti have been spotted rocking head-to-toe Ferragamo, looking classy yet playful. Talk about a chic comeback!

Collab Alert! Krysten Ritter And Corey Lynn Calter Design A Dress For Dare To Share

Collaborations are always a welcome part of fashion, especially when the results help those in need. Designer Corey Lynn Calter teamed up with actress Krysten Ritter to create a dress to benefit Dare To Share, an organization devoted to helping special needs children all over the world. The "Krysten" dress, featuring a flirty black skirt and a black-and-white striped halter top, is intended to have a relaxed party dress feel and is available online for $196. We love the slightly retro vibe of this piece and can definitely picture it with a bold heel and some gold jewelry. Its reachable price point, and especially that 100% of the proceeds go to Dare To Share, are the icing on this very lovely cake. Sigh, is there anything better than shopping for a good cause?
