From Jenni Kayne's trippy fashion video to a curious research study on James Bond, we rounded up the best headlines L.A. had to offer this week.
Swedish label Acne Studios has officially opened its doors downtown. Housed in a historic Art Deco building with the newly opened Ace Hotel as its neighbor, the store marks the brand's second U.S. shop. The Wall Street Journal talked to cofounder Jonny Johansson and discussed why the unexpected location just might be genius. (The Wall Street Journal)
Women's Wear Daily showed some serious love to L.A. this week by naming local line NYX Cosmetics the brand of the year at its 2013 Beauty Inc. Awards. Take that, New York! (WWD)
Apparently researchers are studying fictional characters now. U.K. physicians at the British Medical Journal concluded that James Bond is a true alcoholic, consuming 92 drinks per week on average — four times the recommended limit for an adult male. Maybe it's time to ease up on those martinis, Bond? (Slate)
A crime scene never looked so glamorous: L.A. designer Jenni Kayne teamed up with director Ace Norton to produce a surreal video for winter 2013. How can dead bodies be so chic? You have to see it to believe it! (Vimeo)
